Many people wonder, "How much will Walmart pay for a slip and fall injury?" Perhaps these poor people have suffered a minor slip in the store or a major slip which resulted in a surgery of some sort. Some people have even suffered head injuries due to a severe fall.

Unfortunately, filing claims against Walmart for a slip and fall injury can be a hassle. Many people making claims against Walmart have had to hire an attorney, pay exorbitant legal fees, and end up with a very small settlement or even worse no settlement.

There are a few steps one should take, in order to get organized before pursuing claims against Walmart. First, one should consider the liability within the situation. What was on the floor and how long was it there? Was water on the floor and why did Walmart fail to clean it up? Were there widespread puddles of water throughout the store? The main thing you are going to want to prove is that Walmart was negligent in some way as the owner or operator of the property.

It is also valuable to examine any basic defenses Walmart could bring up. They may claim that one should have been able to see a puddle in view before walking into it. Or, they may blame weather conditions for causing flooding of the building. For many of these arguments, you can be rest assured knowing that there are counter-arguments to defeat these.

It is a good idea to do your own fact collecting around the store. Bring a cell phone and snap a few pictures of the puddle, if you are still at the location. Or, you may want to go back to the store and take pictures of any attention grabbing display areas in the location. This can help prove that the Walmart ads were very distracting for you as you were walking down an aisle and slipped. It is incredibly important for you to have pictures of the dangerous location, since these may come up as evidence at court.

It is also a good idea to refrain from speaking with an insurance adjuster until you have went over the details of your case with an attorney. An insurance adjuster will try to get you to settle for a certain amount of money when you are actually eligible for more financial compensation.

It is in your best interest to heed some of this advice, if you are considering filing a slip and fall claim against Walmart and other department stores like it. Be organized and you will increase your likelihood of success.
